Welcome to 2008 & a new initiative of Queensland Quilters- 2QAQ

What is 2QAQ? It stands for Queensland Quilters Art Quilts. When 2Q president Kate Oszko recognised the impact art quilting was having within the quilt world she wanted to do something special for 2Q members & have an Art Quilt Exhibition. Sue Dennis was also interested & has volunteered to chair a committee of Jane Rundle, Carole Mules, Suzanne Marshall, Melanie Forrest & Kate.

But... we want to do more than just organise 2Q’s first dedicated art quilt exhibition in 2009- we want to have meetings, share our quilts & techniques, learn, be enthused by guest speakers at ARTiculation Afternoons & make new friends.

If you love art quilts, if you make art quilts or are thinking of starting, or are just curious, come join in. Meetings will be the last Saturday of each month beginning in March-November, with the exception of October as this is Quilt Show time.

• 26th April 2008: The Reddy Art Group Journals
• 31st May 2008: ARTiculation Afternoon: Inspiration to Completion- a special 3 artist panel with talks & question time
• 28th June 2008: Writing an Artist Statement
• 26th July 2008: Design
• 30th August 2008: ARTiculation Afternoon: Colour- a special 3 artist panel with talks & question time
• 27th September 2008: Journal Quilt Project Reveal Day
• October: No meeting everyone at the Quilt and Craft Fair
• 29th November 2008: ARTrageous Christmas Party

Venue- Greenslopes Bowls Club

Time- 12.30pm- 4pm

Cost- $3 members, $5 non-members

Afternoon tea provided. The library will not be available. Bring your quilts for show & tell.
