Suzanne Marshall - "GIVE ME 25 LINES"
An old document is found; decaying and worse for wear.
It has been hand sewn using remnants. It is apparent that the tracking of time is being recorded. Something remarkable occurred at the 25 year mark.
The years ahead are still a tangle, but are expected to be as noteworthy. This artefact deserves to be presented to the world to celebrate this
communities' pride in their achievement. |

Helen Kidd - "THREADS OF TIME"
One step at a time 25 stepping stones – 25 years for QQ to get to
where we are now. The threads of quilting are common and bind us
together. This is an original design using quilters cotton lame
and a variety of threads for the surface design. |

Margaret Shingles - "TWENTY FIVE YEARS ON A ROLL"
Found my favourite colours, aded the subject , and it all “rolled” in together beautifully. Using needle turned applique and a bit of machine quilting to finish my design. Inspired by the 25 years of achievements by Queensland
Quilters has contributed to the craft of quiltmaking, and a stash begging to be included.

Margaret Shingles - "TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES"
Twenty five years of fun, friendship and fulfillment, inspired me to
design and make this quilt. I am extremely fond of piecing, needle turn
applique, and hand quilting which made this challenge so enjoyable to do.

When the title ”25” was announced I found it difficult to come up with
something . One night in bed it came to me that I was born on the 25 th ,
so this is my birthday quilt. |

Lyn Baxter - "SYLVER BRYDELLS FOR Q2"
In medieval Germany husbands gave their wives a wreath of silver
for 25 years of marriage. 'Sylver Brydells' are mentioned in an
English church record of 1624. Hand applique and machine quilting and foils.

Karen Mersiades - "LETS CELEBRATE !"
Techniques by Jane Sassaman inspired me in the design and construction
of this quilt. Techniques included drawing to scale, fusing and experimenting
with the sewing machines pre programmed stitches.

Not purposefully, it just happened.

Trish Cartner - "THE FACTS OF THE MATTER"
This quilt was made to commemorate the Material Facts magazine of the Queensland Quilters on the 25 th anniversary. It was made by scanning back issues of Material Facts.
These images were arranged and printed onto fabric that forms the body of the quilt . Further images were appliqued on the quilt,
and 25 banner titles of the magazine in all different styles were apliqued around the border.
Quilts featured made by Lyn Hales, Sue Duffy, Pam Hill,
Lorraine Carthew and Cinzia White.

25 lyre birds, hand stitched and appliqued.
Lyre birds beautifully mimic other birds but their own song
is glorious when they choose to sing it. |

Merody Buglar - "A STITCH IN TIME"
Each patch here represents a year of QQ history. The stitching process celebrates the uniqueness of the women, including myself, who have walked the quilting journey. This piece was inspired by the early quilters whose lives are reflected in the patched pieces. Hand worked on recycled fabric.

Jeannie Henry - "HERES 2 U 2Q !"
I have chosen the image of a well known 2Q member celebrating the 25th anniversary as my inspiration for this challenge. I took many photographs and then transferred my design to fabric using machine applique, machine embroidery and machine quilting. I also included hand stitching and embellishment with beads, a button and a pearl earing. I incorporated the words twenty five by using them as my background quilting motif. |
