Quilt Show – Frequently Asked Questions

The Queensland Quilt Show celebrates the art of patchwork, quilting, and appliqué, offering quiltmakers at all levels the chance to showcase their work. With up to 21 categories, including options for groups and young quilters, we welcome a wide range of quilting styles. For 2026, we’re excited to introduce a new special award for Original Design.

Below, you’ll find answers to all your questions about the competition. If you need more information, please contact us at quiltshow@qldquilters.com

It is essential that before you submit a quilt, you read the Conditions of Entry which can be found here. You will be required to tick a box agreeing to these terms before you can submit the entry form.

We take the security of all quilts displayed at the show very seriously. We undertake regular reviews of our processes and have made improvements where necessary.

We want to reassure all those entering that loss, damage and theft is VERY rare and that having made improvements to our processes and security in recent years, the risk has been minimised further.

Winning quilts are announced on the opening day of the show, the 14th October at 10:15am.

The Original Design award exists to celebrate human creativity and the skill, imagination, and decision-making of quilt designers. To ensure fairness and integrity, generative AI tools are not permitted in the design of the quilt for this award.
