Nesting - Charmaine Ludlow

I wanted to create a bird’s nest from the fabric, so I came up with the idea
of putting it in an old boot.

I used raw edge applique to stitch the pieces onto the background. I
made the birds separately with thread painting,

stitched them to some batting, cut them out and added them to my quilt.
I used chenille technique to create the fabric
