CHINESE LANTERN - Marion Campbell
The design is a black continuous grid of mathematical origins. This allows one to
trace the outline all the way around the grid back to the starting point without lifting
the finer. The floral background is cut from a 1950’s English sunfrock where every
single piece was used. No scraps. Totally hand quilted.
• Black cotton fabric for the pattern and a floral cotton background. Perle #8
cotton thread in various aqua green colours. Black Gutermann quilting cotton for
the grid
• Constructed in horizontal lines following my chart. Several rows laid out together
to avoid the flowers sitting atop each other. It is totally hand quilted one quarter
inch from each side of every seam.
