Margarets Palette - Merody Bugler
The first time I visited Margaret
Olley’s house, I was overwhelmed
by the
colours and the clutter.
Tubes of paint were left lying
around her kitchen, dining and
living rooms ready for use on her
next composition. Using antique
Japanese obi cloth as a base and
silk patches, my work takes the
colours from Margaret’s many
palettes and transforms them into
a single cloth of colours.
• Silk, antique Japanese obi silk,
muslin.
• Hand appliqued silks onto
antique Japanese obi cloth.
Hand quilted.
