Dramatic landscapes of Outback Australia and Africa, desert tones and drought are strong
influences on the artists work. The dramatic contrast created by the use of the silhouette
and gathering flocks of birds help to tell the story.
• Batik cotton fabric, wool/polyester batting, wool yarns, wool felt birds.
• ˜Quilt as you go” using three layers of fabric.
• Further lines of quilting hold the piece flat while wool yarns are twisted together and
then zigzag stitched on to the background.
