Earthern Whimsy - Margaret Tweedie

I combined five orphan-blocks (i.e. three blocks I leaf-printed and two blocks I eco-
dyed on linen) with coordinating commercial fabrics to construct this quilt. The block
arrangement, stitching (both by hand and machine), and the joining metal rings em-
phasise and compliment the colour and movement within each of the fabrics.

• Commercial cottons - leaf-printed linen, eco-dyed linen, various threads and
bronze rings.

• Leaf-printing (i.e. ferns), eco-dyeing (i.e. avocado seeds, skins and flesh), various
embroidery stitches, and hand and machine quilting.
