Textile artworks inspired by Vincent’s life and masterworks were displayed together in tribute to this favourite artist at the Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne, April 2018. These exquisite quilts from makers all over the world are made entirely from hand-dyed suede-look cotton from Cherrywood Fabrics, a small company in Minnesota, USA. The stunning visual impact of this exhibit is due to the cohesive colour, size, theme and fabric. The collection showcases a wide range of subject matter and beautiful quilting techniques. This is the third challenge sponsored by Cherrywood Fabrics, with participants from all over the world. The possibility of fabric prizes, extensive exposure, and having work published in a book has contributed to the growing interest in this unique contest. Over 450 entries were viewed by a panel of three jurors. The 200 selected quilts were divided into two exhibits which will travel all over the world, including stops in Canada, France, and Australia.
